What is an eDiary?
An eDiary lets a study participant record information electronically between visits, such as symptoms or daily activities, instead of filling in a paper diary and bringing it back to the site.
What is eCOA?
Electronic clinical outcome assessment (eCOA) is a broader term for capturing how a participant is doing electronically. Depending on the study, assessments may be reported by the participant, a clinician, a caregiver or an observer.
Why keep it with the rest of the study?
Site staff already work across consent, source, visits and regulatory documents. Keeping diaries and outcome assessments in PAS OneCore means your team has fewer systems to sign in to and one place to follow a participant through the study.
Questions to ask for your study
- Does the protocol or sponsor specify a particular eCOA system?
- Do the assessments require licensing or validated translations?
- How will participants be trained, and who supports them when something goes wrong?
- Who at the site reviews entries, and how often?
