What is study start-up?
Study start-up is the work between a site being considered for a trial and being ready to enroll. It usually includes feasibility, a qualification visit, contract and budget negotiation, IRB approval, regulatory documents, staff training and a site initiation visit.
Why start-up is hard for small teams
Start-up tasks often run in parallel across inboxes, spreadsheets and paper. Keeping them with the study gives everyone one list, and everything you've set up is already in place when the first subject arrives.
