What is a site CTMS?

A clinical trial management system (CTMS) tracks the operations of a study. Sponsors and CROs use one to oversee many sites, while a site CTMS helps a single research site run its own studies: subjects, visits, staff, documents and money.

What small sites should look for

  • Does it cover documentation and billing, or will you still need other tools?
  • Can the people who already do this work learn it without a dedicated admin?
  • Can you control what each role sees, including blinded data?
  • Can monitors do their review without downloading documents?
  • Does every change keep an audit trail with a reason?
